Its been a while since the last I maybe all of us heard about them. Yes, the former U-16 Indonesian National Team, now as SAD Indonesia players, play in the Uruguayan Youth League since early this year. The project, was to send 25 talented young players to Uruguay for a four year training with Cesar Payovich and the target are to qualify to the London Olympics and European clubs for the youngsters.
Like any other project in Indonesia, there is always two main opinion about it. A pessimistic comment from the dimmer and pessimists and of course an optimistic comment from the idealists. They said this is a waste of money, some said this is just a propaganda of Nurdin Halid to stay in the head of FA, but some also said its a new hope for our national team and gives a bright future for the players.
Maybe two of the players that i know are Syamsir Alam and Rinaldi Gunapraditha. Syamsir was on may media when he got a trial with a top flight dutch club and Rinaldi is the most active player in the squad that contributed for giving information to Indonesia, his pictures are post in the PSSI website and he also post it in his friendster profile.
Its been eight months now, and the competition in Uruguay are reaching its final fixtures. As between the leagues they will go on a tour across Asia, and next year they will start school in a Uruguayan School. I found a youtube user which post videos of the team training in Uruguay which can be seen here. So season one is almost finish and there's three season to go, lets see if this project goes along.......
