At the beginning of the ISL season, the logo is a bit different with the one they use now. why did they changed it? well from my view, its the spelling! Yes, again with the spelling. Remember our tourism slogan ".....nation's awakening" changed into ".....national awakening". now this. Djarum Indonesia Super League is the wrong spelling!!
There are certain rules when using the English language. If the word is showing an identity it will be a different word. for example, The English Premier League. English is the word, not England. so for our case it is suppose to be Djarum Indonesian Super League. Its a small mistake for leaving the 'n' but it can be embarrassing.
I'm pleased that we are starting to accept English as one of the important language that needs to be learn. But we need to know the rules as well. Never think that just because its in English, its brilliant. Why don't use Indonesian instead, since its an Indonesian football competition watch by mostly Indonesian. Instead of the embarrassing Indonesia Super League, say Liga Super Indonesia. its better and its the right spelling.
The other mistake that we made is translating the term PS or Persatuan Sepakbola into English. First of all, it doesn't mean FC or Football club. it means FA or football association. Since most of the football clubs in the country are old Perserikatan team, using the term PS, Perse or Persi in front of the city where the club is base is becoming a trend. Even new and younger clubs are using it. Example, Persib doesn't mean Bandung FC, it means Bandung FA. If you want to translate FC to Indonesian the correct word will be KS (Klub Sepakbola). So Chelsea FC will be KS Chelsea in Indonesian.
Well, its just a topic to be think about. Its my opinion and i want to discuss it with everyone
